Give Your Child the Gift of a Second Language!!!
Thursday - Grades 3-5 Heritage Speakers & Advanced
This class is designed for students who already understand or speak some Spanish at home or have prior experience with the language. The goal is to strengthen reading, writing, and grammar skills while expanding vocabulary and cultural knowledge.
Students will:
Read short texts, stories, and poems to build reading fluency and comprehension
Practice writing sentences and short paragraphs using proper grammar and punctuation
Expand their vocabulary across academic and cultural themes (e.g., traditions, identity, environment)
Strengthen oral fluency through discussions, presentations, and creative projects
Deepen their connection to Hispanic culture through songs, crafts, storytelling, and research
The class encourages pride in their language background and promotes bilingual confidence in both academic and social settings.
Tuesday - Grades 1–2 Beginners
This level focuses on building foundational vocabulary and sentence structure. Students will learn to identify and describe everyday items, understand classroom instructions, and use common expressions related to family, weather, numbers, and animals. Listening comprehension and oral participation are key goals.
Monday & Wednesday Kindergarten Brave Beginners
This group is designed for kindergarten students who are beginning their Spanish journey with enthusiasm and curiosity. The class focuses on introducing the Spanish language through immersive, play-based activities that build foundational skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Objectives:
Develop listening and comprehension through songs, movement, and storytelling
Learn essential vocabulary: greetings, colors, numbers, body parts, family, weather, animals, and classroom objects
Recognize and repeat simple words and expressions with accurate pronunciation
Begin to respond to basic questions (What’s your name? How are you?)
Participate in call-and-response games, dramatic play, and hands-on crafts that reinforce language use
Build confidence and a positive attitude toward learning a second language
Wednesday - Grades 3-4 Beginners & Intermediate
This class welcomes both beginners and students with prior Spanish experience. Whether it’s your child’s first time or they’ve participated in Spanish Lab before, everyone will find meaningful opportunities to grow.
Returning students will benefit from fresh content and a more targeted focus. Activities will build on what they’ve previously learned, encouraging them to take the next step in fluency through storytelling, conversation practice, and hands-on learning.
Wednesday - Grades 1–2 Intermediate
At this stage, students will develop greater confidence using Spanish in short conversations. They will engage in dialogues, role-playing, and vocabulary games to reinforce grammar concepts like gender, number agreement, and simple verb conjugations (like “tener,” “ser,” “gustar”).
"As students progress in language learning, I weave in sociocultural elements like music, costumes, food, art, and geography from various Hispanic American countries. Hands-on art projects bring these cultures to life, and the kids love exploring new countries!" Ms.T
“We are thrilled she has really grown to love Spanish and has blossomed in the class. She looks forward to it every week, and has been sharing Spanish words and facts about Spanish speaking countries around the world.”
— A happy parent!
